The Digital World of Paul Pinzarrone

On Aug 5th (Friday), come meet nationally acclaimed artist from Illinois, Paul Pinzarrone, with a solo exhibit at the De Luna Fine Art Gallery (2 W Main St). Opening reception starts at 5 PM. Paul will also attend our August Music on Chicago Festival! Pinzarrone has more than 30 years of art experience and has exhibits throughout the Midwest. His incredible art works will be on display through the month of August.
Pinzarrone’s work went from photography & paintings of photo-realistic science fiction to abstracted futuristic landscapes & machines. He preferred textureless, very smooth surfaces and began working with airbrushes, spraying acrylic lacquers on the back side of clear plexiglas. He preferred hinting at realism by executing finely detailed images of things and places that we have not seen but think we might have. To be “art”, it had to be New. Why do another traditional landscape like the masters have been doing for centuries, with the same tools that the masters used in the 16th century. Pinzarrone’s imagery needed to be new or a new twist, a new approach. Often he would finish a piece, assess it and from what conversation he had with it, he would start the next piece, much like automobile designs would change each production model from year to year.
