EASTER VENUS RIGHT SIDE is a 2014 piece that started as a digital photograph. It is built with many layers of fractal software and photoshop work, using the model skin as a canvas She is 30w”x20h” and printed on high gloss aluminum. It is a one-off [or edition of 1/1]. No frame is required as it floats off of the wall 1/2″ and is hung by sawtooth-type bracket attached to back of piece, The viewer wonders if it is a tattooed figure reclining in an unusual futuristic environment. The viewer tries to solve the puzzle: what is she looking at? Why is she not looking at us? Why is she tattooed like that? Where is she reclining so passively? And what does the mixture of Christian ‘Easter’ have to do with ‘Venus’ the Roman goddess of love, sex and beauty and the subject of numerous 16th century Renaissance art?
