GIRL WITH A NON PEARL EARRING WITH TREES is a 2015 20″x20″ piece on high gloss aluminum. She is built from digital photographs of a model, trees, fractal software and Photoshop. It is a one-off [or edition of 1/1]. No frame is required as it floats off of the wall 1/2″ and is hung by sawtooth-type bracket attached to back of piece, The viewer wonders what she is looking at, why is she tattooed like that? Why don’t we see her face? Why are the trees behind her symmetrical? Start with the 1665 painting by Vermeer, Girl With A Pearl Earring, rotate her so that we are looking at what she is looking at. This is the updated, 21st century version of this work.
