Ali Hasmut – Color, Texture, Light

On October 29th (Saturday) come visit the gallery for a solo exhibit of Chicago artist Ali Hasmut. Opening reception starts at 2pm. Ali will also be in attendance at the Wagner House, performing live art during the Freeport Art Museum Fall Gala. His incredible artworks will be on display at the De Luna Fine Art gallery through the end of November.

Hasmut was born in Babylon, Iraq. He graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Baghdad, Iraq in 1997. After graduation, Ali moved to Jordan to pursue a painting career. His paintings gained popularity and became extremely respected amongst Jordanian Royalty.

In 2000, Hasmut moved to the United States. His first exhibit called “Iraqi Artist” was held at the Sevan Gallery in November 2009. In the same year, he became a member of the Palette and Chisel Art Academy in Chicago. In 2010 Hasmut was awarded 3rd place in the Palette and Chisel Golden Medal Exhibition. In July, 2011 the artist presented his solo exhibition titled “Reflections” in the Palette and Chisel Art Academy.
